Application Programmer


All of our programming roles require strong C++ skills and at least five years of industry experience is essential, while any experience of working on next generation systems is preferable. We are looking for a coder with experience in a number of different areas who can apply themselves to a variety of tasks. Requirements for this role will include:
  • Implement game code using C++ together with our own internal middleware.
  • Profile, debug and maintain existing game code.
  • Work with the Technical Director and App Lead coder to design the game code and contribute to technical design documents.
  • Assist in preparing milestone builds as required.
  • A high level of computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of current game coding techniques.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Self motivation.
Ideally the candidate will work from our London office, although there may be the opportunity to work from home for exceptionally talented candidates.

 

Network Programmer

Network Programmer All of our programming roles require strong C++ skills and at least five years of industry experience is essential, while any experience of working on next generation systems is preferable. For this role, any experience of the following would be preferable.

  • Network sockets and TCP / UDP protocols.
  • Reliable packet handling over UDP.
  • Xbox Live.
  • PlayStation Network (PSN).
  • SQL / ADO database programming.
  • An understanding of the cause of network lag / latency / bandwidth issues and possible ways to minimise their effects in a multiplayer game.

General requirements for all coders include:

  • Implement game code using C++ together with our own internal middleware
  • Profile, debug and maintain existing game code.
  • Work with the Technical Director and Online Department Lead to design the game code and contribute to technical design documents.
  • Assist in preparing milestone builds as required.
  • A high level of computer literacy.
  • Experience of coding with Direct 3D/OpenGL or similar APIs.
  • Good debugging skills.
  • Self motivation.

Ideally the candidate will work from our London office, although there may be the opportunity to work from home for exceptionally talented candidates.
